Hydrogen Rodeo
When the starting flag falls we’re going to buck out three separate events.
Event 1: The actual race.
Hydrogen powered cars will run a 500 mile course. I’m sure there are those that hope for some quiet fuel cell powered vehicle to win but I’m praying that some loud Detroit iron making water at 200 miles per hour finishes first. We’ll finally get to see who’s in the running!
Event 2: Electricity generation using hydrogen.
I figure air conditioning units are about the size of something we can start installing tomorrow. In fact, welders in my area travel with generators that claim to produce the power that is at the same level as the electrical service to my house. Contestants in this category will have to arrive with all their equipment in the bed of a standard pickup truck. The team that makes the most electrons when the checkered flag falls is the winner.
Event 3: Hydrogen Generation.
Participants in this category will be required to arrive with all their mechanical equipment on two standard tractor trailer rigs. The team that generates the most hydrogen when the checkered flag falls is the winner.
